Don’t try to take any attempt for smoothing the base of the snowboard. You can not smooth the base rather you should go for a shop where you will found a specialized grinder. Don’t try to fix it in yourself. These are some valuable information how to maintain your snow board.

Edges

Let’s begin with the edges. Edges are like a metal strip around the boarder of the snowboard which always touches the snow. It will better to touch up edges every day. Sharpening stone are the best for tuning the edges. Always take care of when you go for tuning the snowboard and it should be start from the base edge to the bottom of the board and the stone should be run lightly paralleling to the bottom of the board. After the one edge gets smooth then turns to another edge. Make sure that the side edges should be sharp enough so that it will dig into the ice. The angle should be 90 degree with the base and side edges. In the ice hill, the sharper edges will be more effective.

Base

If you want to take proper care of the snowboard examination should follow everyday after the snowboarding. If any deep scratch you found, instantly go for repairing. One snowboarding is enough scratch the snowboard, but 5 snowboarding isn’t sound odd, so you must go for a good maintenance after this. You should use a special base cleaner to dissolve old wax and dirt through the cleaning. Scratch will have to take seriously by melting some compound to be fixed on that gouge. If you want to run your snowboard very fast you have to be regularly waxed to your snowboard. Make sure that old wax can slow your running and which will make the surface of your snowboard uneven.

While you are going to maintain or tuning your snowboard, start with the plastic scarper to scrap the base. Drop some heat waxing iron to the surface of the base. Be alert that the wax should not too heat otherwise it will destroy the wax properties. After dropping the hot wax, the base should be prepared for smoothing. You should learn that how smooth can be done to the surface of the snowboard by running an iron up and down. Excess wax should remove from the base by rubbing pad after the base cooled.

Storage

Snowboard should be kept in a cool dry place in the summer season. Make sure that excess humidity can prevails bad effect to the board and the bindings also. So don’t keep your boards in the basement. After waxing your snowboard, store it in a proper place. Waxing will protect from rusting and also helps in keeping more durable surface. Not only the board but also the boots should be taken proper care in storing. Soft boots should be well cleaned and apply some foot oil for the surface of the boot which will keep soft for ever.
