Many men wouldn’t even be seen walking into a traditional day spa; the décor, the robes, the overall feel are just too touchy feely feminine. Still men can benefit from the products and services found in a day spa. The answer to this dilemma; Why a day spa that caters to men, of course. Men only day spas make up just a small percentage of the eleven billion dollar industry, but such spas are certainly an up and coming niche market. Why shouldn’t men have facilities dedicated just to them? Day spas are meant to pamper and relax a person, to free the body from stress and to wipe away some of the physical signs of aging. Men have been shy about taking advantage of these services because they felt silly or less masculine in the predominantly feminine surroundings of most day spas. There is even a feminine ring to the menus of services and products found in a standard day spa.
Day spas designed with the man in mind start from the ground up with frankly masculine décor heavy on dark woods, leather and large pieces of furniture. Rather than manicures and pedicures, these day spas offer body detailing services. Facials and body scrubs are heavy on the sage and orange scents. Some male only day spas offer car washes done on premises while a man partakes of the spa services and big screen plasma TVs to watch sporting events while being massaged. A lot of the men who try out male oriented day spas become repeat customers after just one visit. Many have made a trip to the day spa a weekly appointment. After all with thick robes, masculine surroundings and luxury services meant just for them, what man could resist the pampering of day spa built with the man in mind? |
